Dear Friends,
"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
Next week, Bike4chai 2024 kicks off, 300km in 2 days to Camp Simcha- the worlds greatest finish line!
My goal is to raise $120,000 for Chai Lifeline Montreal.
I am writing to you on behalf of Chai Lifeline, an extraordinary organization dedicated to providing essential support to children and their families battling cancer. The journey through childhood cancer is one of immense challenge, affecting not only the child but the entire family. At Chai Lifeline, we are committed to easing these burdens through a variety of programs and services designed to bring comfort, hope, and a sense of normalcy during such a difficult time.
My wife and I pioneered the opening and building of the Chai Lifeline Montreal chapter, and we are honoured to this day to be a part of the day to day operations, staff team, and workload. Through community support and volunteer assistance, we have grown tremendously and are proud of how far we've come, and we remain steadfast in our mission to continue growing and sustaining this unbelievable organization.
Chai Lifeline’s support services are tailored to meet the diverse needs of our families. From medical referrals to financial assistance to counseling and case management, we are there every step of the way. Our dedicated team works tirelessly to ensure that families never feel alone in their fight against cancer. Among our many initiatives, we offer Birthday in a Box, a special program that delivers a box filled with celebration and cheer to children who are unable to have a normal birthday party with their classmates and friends due to illness or hospital stays. This program ensures that no child feels forgotten on their special day, no matter what they are going through.
Additionally, our Serenity program provides a much-needed respite for couples dealing with the stress of having a sick child or spouse. This program allows them to escape to a luxury lakefront hotel, where they can enjoy a relaxing stay with gourmet breakfast, giving them a chance to recharge and rejuvenate.
Another cornerstone of our support services is Camp Simcha, a summer camp where children with cancer can experience the joys of childhood in a safe and nurturing environment. At Camp Simcha, the focus shifts from illness to fun, as children engage in swimming, sports, arts and crafts, and build lifelong friendships. This camp offers them a chance to feel normal again, creating cherished memories that they and their families will treasure forever.
Your generosity can make a profound difference in the lives of these children and their families. By donating to Chai Lifeline, you enable us to continue offering these crucial services, bringing moments of joy and respite to those who need it most. Your support will directly impact the lives of families facing the unimaginable, providing them with the hope and strength to carry on. Thank you for considering this request, and for your compassion towards those who need it most.
It is a privilege to be able to give. It would be a Divine Gift to have no need for an organization like Chai Lifeline, and we pray for that day. Until then, may you only ever be on the giving side.
I beg you to dig deep, so that no sick child or family will be left to suffer through serious illness alone.
Our budget is over a million dollars. Through your generosity, and with fundraisers like Bike4Chai, we can continue to fight illness with love, battle cancer with hope, and bring some light into the darkness.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Avi and Reitzu Iczkovits
